The process is very slow when it came to our screen printing. When we arrived and went over the thermo ink with one of the tutors, he said it wouldn't work with the black ink underneath and it wouldn't be visible.
From then Luke and I really struggled to visualise what our final outcome would look like considering the black had to change to a grey. The grey seemed to be too dark and we kept making it lighter until we found the perfect light colour. I think we where both a bit doubtful for the final outcome because it wasn't going to look how we thought.
In total there ere two screens. One screen for the grey and one screen for the the thermo ink. The grey went on fine and we had some help from some of the tutors as it was my first time and luke hadn't screen printed in a while. The moment of truth arrived and it was time to apply to thermo ink which can i mention was not cheap at all the print!
It went on so well both Luke and I were very surprised. It was such a huge relief to expect a negative outcome but actually come out with something better than we could have ever hoped!
I am also very happy because I have finally been screen printing and this has given me huge confidence to go and screenprint my Penguin Book Design.
